| Blended Learning Research Report |
 |
|
We have both been involved in various aspects of
distance and e-learning for over 15 years in a
variety of corporate and academic settings.
Since 1997, our work at Royal Roads University
in Victoria, Canada, has facilitated a true
action research laboratory for delivering
e-learning and traditional classroom based
coursework (blended learning) in effective and
meaningful ways to mid career professionals.
Our Blended Learning Research Report draws on a
range of experiences to provide some insight
into blended learning; our own personal
experiences, experiences reported in the
literature and experiences gathered from our
colleagues. We present a brief review of the
current thinking around the characteristics and
effectiveness of a blended approach to learning
and then go on to describe our own research and
a model for the development of blended learning
that evolved from it.
We hope you find this research report useful and
informative. We would welcome any feedback.

LearningEdge is a set of tools and processes

in your organization becoming a learning

people in the use of the LearningEdge toolset in
North America.
We've added another certification workshop to
our schedule. This workshop will take place in
Toronto on March 10th to 12th. Please don't
hesitate to get in touch if you're interested.
The cut off date for booking onto this workshop
is February 12th. So act now if you want to book a place.
We've had some requests for taking LearningEdge
to other parts of Canada at different times from
our scheduled workshops. If you can get 6
people interested, we'll travel to you! Or,
feel free to let us know you are interested but
can't attend a current offering and we'll do our
best to schedule one that works.
to explore the possibilities.
Call us today at (250) 213 6239 or email
info@calliopelearning.com if you are
interested in taking the LearningEdge
Certification but need some help
financially. We've tried to come up with a
creative solution that could be especially
attractive to independent consultants.

| What's New? |
 |
|
We've been a bit slow getting this month's Muse
out but we have good reason. We took a bit of a
break over Christmas.Tammy is now busy at Royal
Roads University teaching in their MBA program.
Meanwhile, Dave has been packing up things in
Glasgow and moving to Canada. Becoming a
permanent resident is very exciting but requires
attention to an awful lot of details.
